P-POP is not a Genre?

The Asian Music scene is currently moving forward and on the progress. To that, unique genres from different countries have been established such as , J-POP, K-POP, C-POP, and T-POP. The Philippines is known with OPM, but on the year 2009, a term P-POP surfaced out. But now, in a certain magazine, it tells that P-POP is not a genre, but a trademark of a certain record label in the Philippines. Let’s get to know more about this after the cut. (more…)


XLR8′s new song : “It’s Time to XLR8″

During their PPOP Explosion Concert, a mystery song was performend by the boys of XLR8. This was entitled “It’s Time to XLR8″. It is included in their special DVD album which has the same title as well. It is said that a member named MelJohn composed this song. It is an upbeat and fast song and its message pertains to XLR8′s mission to revive the music industry in the Philippines and to show their talent to the world. LISTEN TO THE SONG HERE:

P-POP Explosion Concert Was a Success

On the day of April 1st 2011, thousands of P-POP fans gathered at the Aliw Theater, Manila, Philippines to attend the first ever major concert of the rookie asian genre, P-POP. The event was produced  by Viva Records, one of the leading music company in the Philippines and the producer the first and leading P-Pop groups. The performers were XLR8, Pop Girls and RPM. This concert only shows that the Philippine Music Industry is still on the run and P-POP is taking a new step of popularity all throughout the Philippines.


P-POP’s XLR8 Members Spotted at Super Junior’s Concert

On the middle of Super Junior‘s concert at Araneta Coliseum, three members of PPOP boygroup XLR8 were spotted in the event. The members were Hideaki, Arkin and Kiko. They were watching right in front of us so I happen to obtain pictures of them, Check them out below!

XLR8 for their GOLD record

As a rookie group of just a rookie genre of asian pop, which is ‘P-POP’, the 8 fresh boys of XLR8, has just receive their GOLD RECORD for their self-titled album ‘XLR8′. They received their award at a new variety show in the Philippines, entitled ‘Party Pilipinas’. Their carrier single ‘You’re So Hot’ and follow-up track ‘I Love You Girl’ has been a big hit as they are of new beat and sound in the music industry of the Philippines.

For a rookie group to achieve gold record, they must have strong potentials and received much attention from their fans. XLR8 is set to continue their promotions this year of 2011.


XLR8 for Mossimo Denim

While P-pop boy group XLR8 continues their promotions for their self-entitled album ‘XLR8′, they are also busy appearing on different TV guesting and shows. Amidst their busy schedule for mall tours, the boys had recently posed for Mossimo Denim fashion collection.

Philippines is set for a remake of ‘Meteor Garden’

First Meteor Garden, then Hana Yori Dango, came to Boy Over Flowers, now one of the Philippines’ largest network, ABS-CBN is set to make a remake of the epic asian drama, and is rumored to be entitled as BRAT BOYS BEYOND. Its main casts are here as follow: (notice that some of the PPOP artists will star on it)

That’s all the cast, what you think about them? Well it seems that there is a new hope now for the P-Pop industry, since a drama of Meteor Garden franchise is a multi-million project, they can make a lot of OST focusing more on P-pop, having Sarah Geronimo as the pop princess of the Philippines and Chase Rivera as one of the members of XLR8 is a big advantage. The drama is set to air on 2011.

XLR8 Releases “I Love You Girl” Music Video

P-Pop boyband XLR8 has released their second music video. “I Love You Girl” is XLR8′s second single off their debut album from Viva Records.

I must say, this one is pretty much better than “You’re So Hot”. I just hate the fact that most Filipinos hate them rather that support them -.-
