SNSD Are Happy They Are Slowly Taking Over Japan

Only 3 months after beginning their Japanese activities Girls’ Generation has gone on to become an overnight sensation with a successful concert and two Top 5 hit singles and the girl’s recently sat down to discuss their feelings about their success

Girls’ Generation stated “We were baffled but amazed to hear such a great news in such a short time.” “But we are very pleased to have a chance letting everyone know about us. We’re very happy since it looks like we’ve made a favorable impression about K-POP.”

When commenting on the competitiveness among fellow idols in Korea Taeyeon commented “I’m not sure if there was a rivalry in Korea, but there is none inside Japan.”

When asked why they thought the group had been able to become so successful quickly Sooyoung responded“Since K-POP is being popularized around the entire Asia, I guess we were able to receive the attention in a natural way. “I think the reason is because we did not change our styles to fit in Japan but brought over our own charming points and the music itself.”

The group was then asked about their fans which experts say females make up the majority of them and how they felt about that, the girl’s answering “To be honest, we were really amazed. I guess the stylish concept was impressive in Japan” “Even though these factors can appeal Japanese women, we had many female fans in Korea when we first debuted. We also want to be loved by male fans gradually.”

Though the girl’s made it clear they wanted to make fans for the right reasons saying “We hope Girls’ Generation would be widely known for its musicality, rather then the appearance.”

The key point of the interview came when they were asked about particpating in Japan’s prestigous ‘Kohaku Uta Gassen’” which the girl’s responded saying“We really want to participate in it!”

If the girl’s continue to gain more and more popularity it seems we might finally see the day when a female K-pop group will participate at the Kohaku Uta Gassen (more…)

He said he feels giddy because yesterday has carried on through the night to this morning, but he still had that same smile on his face. Because of the greedy curiosity about “his” story, I didn’t have a chance to ask Taeyang, who has been continuing group activities and solo activities for the past 4 years -, I just asked him the first question I thought of as soon as he sat down – what the biggest change after his solo debut in 2008 was?
