Yaguchi Mari and Nakamura Masaya want to get married
It was reported on Friday that former Morning Musume member Yaguchi Mari (28) and former D-BOYS member Nakamura Masaya (25) were planning to get married this month. Sure enough, they announced their marriage at a press conference on Sunday. The two submitted their marriage registration late at night on May 21, technically during the early hours of May 22. SMAP plans concert in Beijing this September
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is currently in Japan, and on Saturday he met with boy band SMAP. Looking to improve relations between China and Japan, he asked the four members present (Katori Shingo, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, Kimura Takuya, Nakai Masahiro) to sing a song for him, and they obliged with “Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana”. Arashi Continues to Storm with their upcoming Single

According to Japanese online music shop Shinseido, popular idol group Arashi will be releasing a new single and DVD this summer.
The new single is titled “Beautiful World” and is set to release on July 6th. The first press will come with a special booklet and an alternate jacket, and according to Shinseido, it will have seven songs, five of which are said to be solo songs. (more…)
Johnny’s “Marching J” a Complete Success
The charity event “Marching J” by Johnny’s Entertainment was a complete success. About 389,000 people and almost all of the Johnny’s and Johnny’s Jr. artists have attended the event.
From April 1st to 3rd between 10am and 6pm the charity event “Marching J” organized by Johnny’s Entertainment was held at Yoyogi National Gymnasium to collect money for the areas affected by the earthquake/tsunami.
All Johnny’s and Johnny’s Jr. artists, except Jin Akanishi who sent a video message instead, showed up at the venue.
The number of participants constantly grew from day to day to a final of 389,000 people.

Arashi sets ‘Guinness World Records’
It was just a mere try that Arashi will try to have three Guinness World Records through their 60 CMs for “Android au“.
Then on
January 31st, KDDI (Japanese telecommunications operator) announced that the records have been certified! The group made it through and won these titles:
- Most versions of CMs for the same product within 24 hours on terrestrial broadcasting
- Most versions of CMs for the same product within 8 hours on paid channel
- Most versions of CMs for the same product during a 30 minutes-long TV program
Congratulations to the storm of J-pop world! Truly this is a remarkable event in the Asian Music Industry.
AKB48 Reveals Details On Their Upcoming Single
AKB48 will be releasing a new single “Sakura no Ki ni Narou” on February 16th, and the details for the upcoming single have been revealed recently. “Sakura no Ki ni Narou” will be used as a main theme song for the short drama series “Sakura Kara no Tegami~AKB48 Sorezore no Sotsugyou Monogatari~“, which all AKB48 members make appearance. The show will air from February 26th to March 6th.
The new single will be released as three different types, “Regular Edition Type-A” , “Regular Edition Type-B” and “Theatrical Edition”. Check out the track lists for each type!

Teen Top Releases New mini-album – “Transform”

May J. Will Release A New Album – “Colors”
R&B vocalist May J. is set to release her new album, “Colors“, on January 26th.
The album features a large amount of collaborations with other Japanese urban artists. Rapper Zeebra will be working with Nanba Akihiro on the track “ONE MORE KISS“, and the song was produced and written by Kubota Toshinobu, who wrote the lyrics and chorus to the 2010 year-end NHK charity image song, “Kimi no Tonarini.” Other participants will be RYO the SKYWALKER, Urata Naoya (AAA), WISE, and KG.
The album will be available in the standard CD regular and DVD limited edition. The limited edition comes with clips from her first national tour at the SHIBUYA-AX stop. It will feature five videos from the tour, including a special live of “Garden” featuring DJ KAORI, Diggy-MO, Clench & Blistah.

Koda Kumi’s new album will come soon
The release of Koda Kumi’s newest single, “POP DIVA“, has been hyped up for the song’s electric and powerful feel. Now fans can look forward to more.
Several online shops, such as 95music, and other reliable sources such as fan-net, have listed the singer’s 9th studio album for a release on February 23rd, just two weeks after the release of her latest single.
Furthermore, the title “Dejavu” has been listed as the name of the album. No tracklists have been included, but the plans are to release the album in just two formats: CD-Only and CD+2DVD.
Koda will have released three singles in preparation for this album, so there are seven tracks that have already been released that have the potential to make it onto the album.

MIYAVI reveals support bassists for re-cut “WHAT’S MY NAME? e.p.”
On February 2nd, MIYAVI will be releasing his new single, a re-cut version of “WHAT’S MY NAME?“, and he has finally revealed the names of his supporting bassist lineup.
The “WHAT’S MY NAME? e.p.” will be a re-release of the track from his new “WHAT’S MY NAME?” album. It will have the standard lineup of MIYAVI on guitar and BOBO on the drums, like his previous releases, but it will also feature different support lineups for the different versions of the EP. The limited edition version will also feature MIYA (385), TOKIE, and KenKen (RIZE). The regular edition of the EP will feature Yoshida Ichirou (ZAZEN BOYS), Hama Okamoto (OKAMOTO’S), and Hinata Hidekazu (Straightner, Nothing’s Carved In Stone, EOR, killing Boy).
The first print limited edition of the EP will come with a DVD, and it will feature footage from his August metropolitan lives that occurred throughout Tokyo and were aired on Ustream. There will be a mix of clips from the “<TOUR in Tokyo 2010> Screaming Out from TOKYO” and “EMI ROCKS” performances.
Now MIYAVI is preparing for his February 1st and 2nd shows at the Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO. This live event will also feature EP participants ZAZEN BOYS and Nothing’s Carved In Stone.

Tegomass will release a new single – “Aoi Bench”
A male duo consisting of NEWS members Tegoshi Yuya and Masuda Takahisa, Tegomass has announced that they will be releasing their 5th single titled, “Aoi Bench“, on February 16th.
It’s been about a year and six months since they last released track, when the came out with “Tanabata Matsuri”. The new song, “Aoi Bench”, is a cover song of the male duo Sasuke, which was disbanded in 2009.
It was also announced that “Aoi Bench” will be used as an ending theme song for “Onegai! Ranking” in February, and it will be released as two different versions.

Artist You Want To Spend Christmas With
Rekochoku released the results from 3,643 votes for “Artist you want to spend Christmas with.”
For male artists, voted by women, Yuusuke came out at the top. Users cited that his “smile was sweet” and “a fun personality who always surprises people.” Coming in second was Masaharu Fukuyama and then Takahiro and Atsushi of EXILE. TAKUYA of UVERworld came in 5th.
As for the female artists, voted by men, Kana Nishino came in first. A lot of users cited her angelic voice as the reason to vote for her. YUI came in second with AKB48 members for the last 3 places. Maeda Atsuko, Oshima Yuko and Itano Tomomi came in third, fourth and fifth respectively. It is no wonder that AKB48 members were chosen by some of them men to spend Christmas with. AKB48 was one of the most used words in Japan for 2010.
