FT ISLAND’s Oh Won Bin Wants To Make Himself Relevant Again
After rocking primadonnas world with the announcement he would be leaviing the group one year ag,o former FT Island-member, Oh Won Bin is going to release his first solo single ‘Love You and Love You Again’ on 11th November. With that he’s officially starting his career as a solo artist.
Since he left FT Island on 28th January 2009, he has been preparing for his solo career which is going to start officially next Thursday. A represantative of FNC Music, which is also managing FT Island itself, said, “Early last year Oh Won Bin left FT Island due to differences in musical opinions but has been preparing as a solo artist ever since. For the past 2 years. Oh Won Bin has been working hard to materialize the music that was budding inside of him since debuting as FT Island. This digital single is the first product of his hard work”
The medium-tempo song ‘Love You and Love You Again’ has orchestral twists and is featuring Brown Eyed Girl’s Miryo.
Oh Won Bin also left a message through his agency, “I’ve been wanting to return to the fans but in order to return with great music I’ve thought intensely and prepared intensively. For all those who have waited for me for almost 2 years I will work hard and show you great performances” (more…)

On a recent recording of Beatles Code, FT Island member Lee Hong Ki revealed
‘When I auditioned to become part of FT Island, the officials told me I was to not participate because of my below 180cm height. Then one year later, one of them asked me if I wanted to become part of the group, and that’s how I’m part of FT Island. ‘
He jealously continued: ‘Our hubae group, CN Blue’s members are taller than us,’ causing laughter among the cast.

GAON Charts: September Top 50
With the month of September over the Top 50 songs of the month were revealed and with little surprise the no.1 artist to score to the top was 2NE1! Releasing their first album To Anyone last month it came as little surprise that the group would be no.1 as not only did they top the charts for 2 weeks straight but around 5 of their songs all made Top 50 every week! And the lucky song? Giving simiar vibes to their chart topping hit I Don’t Care, Go Away proved to be fan’s favorite on the charts.
Following closely behind at no.2 was another fan favorite and a smash hit song, Can’t Nobody.
The girl’s did though come under massive competition in their first week from none other than Supreme Team who with a collaboration with Brown Eyed Soul smashed the charts with their hit song, Why.
At no.4 well will you look at that its 2NE1 again! Who can forget Clap Your Hands another powerful song that was included in the girl’s trilogy promotion.
And finally at no.5 after making a big comeback splash earlier in August its none of than FT ISLAND who clearly showed idols how to party like a rock star with their hit song Love Love Love.

FT Island To Return To J-pop With New Single + New Teaser
Even though after much anticipation with their K-pop comeback a few months back, the boys of FT ISLAND are ready to go back to Japan with their 6th new single set to be released next month called So Today…
The single will come with 3 new songs and like their past singles the first press of the CD Only edition will come with one random photocard (1 of 7).
The boys popularity seems to have dropped down again from their last single Brand New Days as it charted at no.11 compared to their best hit so far Flower Rock that charted Top 5, but in either case they should chart somewhere in the Top 20.

Seunghyun Stops The Rumors About An FT ISLAND Member Replacement
On the 1st of October, F.T.ISLAND’s Song Seunghyun has posted an entry on his fan cafe denying all rumours currently circulating about him and the band.
Apparently, because of his recent absence on a Japanese magazine event – rumours that he was terribly sick and is leaving the band has been circulating. To clarify things out, he posted an entry explaining the reason of his absence on some of the group’s activities. (more…)

FT ISLAND To Hold A Concert In November
Korean rock band FT Island will hold a live concert in November, according to their agency FNC Music on Friday.

FT ISLAND Continues Their Streak Of No.1s This Time On GAON WEEKLY SINGLE CHARTS
Seems like this was the week of out with the old in with the new as FT ISLAND rocked the GAON weekly charts finally making their way to no.1 with their hit song Love Love Love, coming at no.2 was 4men who also flew up the charts at no.2 with their latest song U, Wheesung came up nicely 17 spots at no.3 in the charts with his comeback track Even Thought of Marriage. SISTARS came up 10 spots with thier new hit Shady Girl, and finally former no.1 champs Homme came out at no.5 with their track.

FT ISLAND Hates How Lee Hong Ki Hogs The Cameras
Group FT Island’s truth talks gained viewers’ attention.
FT Island, who had recently made a comeback with their title song “Love Love Love”, appeared on tvN music show “Newton” and shared their thoughts on the show.
FT Island’s undisclosed stories were revealed in the segment “Newton Secret”. Members’ secrets as well as other interesting episodes from their Japan activities were also revealed in the show.
When asked which member is the most popular in Japan, Hongki answered, “The one who has the most screentime, which is me.” The members revealed their displeasure by saying,“Whenever Hongki is being captured on camera, we tried our best to make ourselves shown too, even if it’s just our feet.”
Minhwan followed by saying, “I can’t even move from where I am, as I’m the drummer”. Everyone laughed.
Jaejin commented on Hongki’s self-confidence by saying, “Hongki-hyung is ranked 3rd in terms of looks in our group. I want 2PM’s Nickhun to join our group so that we can destroy Hongki-hyung’s arrogance.” Everyone laughed again. Hongki also revealed that he would like After School’s Lizzy to join their band.
LoL at least their not like other group’s who let their leader hog all the attention!

FT ISLAND Are Thrilled About Their Mutizen Award
With their victory to the top at Inkigayo 3 years after their last the boy’s of FT ISLAND celebrated while thanking their devoted fans.
Lee Hongki recently updated his Twitter to thank the fans, “Thank you for the #1 win… It’s thanks to all of you guys, I really love you all.”
Choi Jonghoon also tweeted, “We placed #1… How’s this possible, we always stood at the back during the ending stages… We received the award with our minds blank… Thank you, and I love you all ㅠㅠ.” Along with the comment, he shared a couple of photos of the five boys celebrating their win.
Congrats guys with your return to K-pop and your talent it was only expected you would win!

Lee Hong Ki Had A Homeless Lifestyle In Japan?
FT Island joked around on KBS2 ‘Star Golden Bell Class 1 Grade 1’ 4 days ago.
Specifically, Lee Hong Ki replied to the question, “You had a homeless lifestyle in Japan?” with, “In the Japanese studio…”
As such, pictures of Lee Hong Ki in the Japanese studio were revealed on the show which attracted much attention.
Lee Hong Ki then explained, “We had many shootings every day in Japan. That picture was taken on the last day.”
On another note, Lee Hong Ki revealed that Song Hye Gyo is his ideal type and watched Han Ji Woo’s sexy dance, to which MC Shin Jung Hwan enthusiastically clapped along.

Taeyang Wins No.1 M! Countdown + Today’s Performances
Today Taeyang was able reclaim his crown as no.1 on M! Countdown with his latest song I’ll Be There adding to his collection from his previous song I Need A Girl.

FT Island Wants Everyone To Stop Calling Them Idols
5-member band FT Island is back with their new album.
Their new title song “Love Love Love” is somehow different from their usual music style. Without orchestra music in the background, their band sound is much distinctive.
The members have been called “idols” since their debut in 2007. However, they do not see themselves as one. We’ve met up with them recently and let’s see what they have got to tell us.
FT Island members have grown from being teenagers to matured young men throughout the years. 3 years after their debut, the young band went on an Asia tour and many fans rushed to see them.
“We’ve abandoned the idea of being called ‘idols’ last time. In fact, we’re doing more concerts than appearing on shows and we do not have restrictions like what idols do.”
“Our fans have decreased in numbers as compared to last time. But we are doing better in our music now, so it’s good. There are fans who can tell that.. Now we see ourselves as a real ‘band’.”
FT Island had a major debut in Japan in May and had songs up on the Oricon chart in the top 3 positions. With more than 2 years of doing Indie music in Japan, they have gained popularity and even met up with about 20,000 fans at their recent Japan concert tour.
They even attended the Japanese rock festival “Summer Sonic” in August, showing the best they could on stage.
However, even with all these efforts they had put it, people still question, “FT island are just idols. What kind of band are they?”
Lead vocal Lee Hongki smiled and said, “We can’t change people’s conception so easily. Someday they will recognise our efforts.”
Drummer Choi Minhwan said, “I think it’s because we’re still young. People think that ‘they’re still young, how much could they do?’ The younger members have already grown up and some of us are even composing, wouldn’t that change their thinking of us?”
What the members are trying to point out is that, they have ‘grown up’. They’re now different from their debut times but people are still looking at them like when they first debuted, which is a pity.
FT Island received lots of attention when they first debuted. They had many teenage fans and at the same time they started doing activities in Japan. This is definitely not an easy choice for the young band.
The band chose to “play instruments”, instead of “doing breakdance”. They went around different clubs in Tokyo to perform and slowly, they had people listening to their music and fans who like their performance. Through this, they gained self-confidence. Though there were times when they felt disheartened due to hurtful remarks, they encouraged each other because of their love for music.
FT Island members are recently into music composition. “In the first place, shouldn’t a band be playing their own music” they said in sulky words but do not feel the least bit of worry because they still have more to learn and develop.
“Sometimes we felt unjust and angry when we received hurtful remarks. However, because we have seen too many of such comments, that we have gotten used to it already. We’ll just practise or do something and try not to think about it.”
“We’ve just completed another song and had it sent to the Japanese management a few days ago. We’re getting excited to know their reaction. If we continue to work hard like this, we will be able to release an album full composed by us. Soon! Really.”
In the 4th year after their debut, FT Island is gaining more and more self-confidence. They understand their own weaknesses and are determined to develop better. We can be sure that they will be recognised as a “band”, instead of “idols” in days to come.

If you thought FT ISLAND lead singer Lee Hong Ki liked his women in sweats and ripped bluejeans and loves to spend time just “chillin” with each other your sadly mistaken.
Lee Hong Ki expressed, ‘I like glamorous women… Lately there are a lot of thin women, but compared to that style, I like the style that gives a sense of volume. Jessica Gomes and Song Hye Gyo are my ideal types.’
After hearing Hong Ki’s confession, the listeners commented,
‘It’s hard to find that type of people.’
‘Isn’t it too much to be sexy at a young age?’
