Taecyeon stated
“Last year, while promoting ‘Heartbeat,’ I created the ‘Jjit-Taecyeon’ nickname with our zombie performance. That nickname became something indescribable in my life, as our popularity at the time was sky-rocketing. Unfortunately, my life fell straight through the floor in the midst of the ‘Jjit-Taecyeon’ time due to the departure of a team member.”
Since Jay Park left though Taecyeon has achieved the most popularity among the group (besides Nickhun) taking part in various projects outside the group this year.

Jay Park Wants You To Know About His Obsession With Himself & Need For Surgery
-> Because of his eyes, he’s visited cosmetic surgery clinics.
Without a flaw, Jaebum possesses one of the clearest skins out of any celebrity. Thanks to his genetics, he’s able to give off a warm image but he claims that his white skin is actually poisonous to his image managing. “I like faces that look manly but I think I look too young. I went to a tanning shop about 50 times, hoping that a darker color will help give me some manly charms. Unfortunately, I became white again after 2 weeks.”
To him, skin care is the talk of another world. “I wash my face and moisturize frequently but that’s it. Isn’t that definit?”
Then is his white skin problematic for him? “Actually no, my eyes are. I even visited cosmetic surgery clinics to consider double eyelid surgery. It’s fun when I get tired and my eyes create double eyelids on their own. I think I look better with them too. I went to a clinic in 2006 during my trainee days but the doctor told me that I’d look worse. Even my friends told me not to do it. Still, I can’t help but feel envious of double eyelids.”
He’s had his characteristic short hair since his debut in 2008 which has never changed. “Short hair looks better with hats and when I dance. I think it’s better than long hair covering my face.”

Insoles have become a necessity to many male idols, but to Jaebum, it’s nothing more than an accessory. “I wore insoles sometimes when I went on TV programs because there were a lot of tall female celebrities and I looked shorter in comparison when they wore heels. Still, dancing is more important than wearing insoles.”
With Jaebum pouring all of his 24 hours into his dance, it’s vital for him to take care of his body. “There’s a 24 hour training center in Seattle near my house. My arms are unusually long so it’s hard making thick muscles. My thin legs are also something I pay extra attention to. As for my abs, I exercise about 40~50 minutes for them.”

Jaebum says that he’s received an unending amount of underwear from his fans while he stayed in America, to the point where he no longer has to buy any more. Fans have been sending him everything he’s needed through mail, the most being underwear. “How do I feel receiving underwear as a gift? It’s something I need so I’m just very thankful.”
On his fashion style, “I wear a clean t-shirt with cotton pants. It gives off a hip hop feel but it’s comfortable as well. I don’t have a brand that I favor and brand names are out of my interests. As long as it’s pretty in my eyes, that’s it. I don’t care for accessories that much either but I like big, eye catching earrings.”
He concluded with a bright smile while stating, “One of the differences between promoting with a group is that I can do my hair, outfits, and music however I want.”

Jay Park Talks About Returning To Korea & His Manly Pink Underwear With Star
Jaebum plays the role of Darkness in a b-boy movie titled ‘Hype Nation.’ “When I first received the offer, I wasn’t going to do it. However, I decided to do it because I could be together with AOM. Fortunately, it was a movie about b-boying so there wasn’t any particular hardships about it. Just that there were a couple parts that required my acting skills and even I could see that I looked awkward.”
Although it was a hard decision, ‘Hype Nation’ holds a lot more meaning to him now. As a part of the Sidus HQ family, will Park Jaebum be changing career paths as an actor?
“No. Because I can’t act, I’m going to put more focus on my career as a singer. Now, for example, I’m focusing about 90% into my singing and 10% into acting. I am, however, still interested in acting. I’d like to try comedies, I think it’d be a lot easier and fun.”
Then does he have a female actress he’d like to work with?
“Other than company events, I’ve never met any of the actors. But if I had to choose, I’d like to try acting with Shin Mina. There’s something that’s hard to explain about her smile, it’s cute at the same time.

After spending 9 months of hardships, he returned to Korea. “I loved my return. I was able to meet my fans again and show them a lot of good sides of me.”
Is there anything he wanted to eat in particular? “I craved samkyeopsal. I love meat in general but I couldn’t forget the taste of wrapping it with grilled garlic. I ate a lot of it after I returned.”
It’s a rather surprising answer. One of Jaebum’s trademarks are his distinctive chocolate abs. The nickname of ‘Jjit-Jaebum’ has followed him since his days as a 2PM member, but how is it that he enjoys the infamous high calorie samkyeopsal? Usually, people with such nice bodies enjoy meals consisting of chicken breasts and whatnot. Park Jaebum answered, “I just don’t gain weight as easily so there’s nothing I’m picky about. I just try not to eat late at night.”
Does this mean that he’s born with it? (TN: MAYBE IT’S MAYBELLINE) Jaebum seemed like he was in despair at the conclusion but quickly answered, “To make abs, exercising is the most important. I used to concentrate on exercising my abs for one to two hours a day because abs disappear quickly if you don’t exercise them. It’s gotten a lot harder now so I’ve cut it down to an hour.”

At the interview, Jaebum appeared looking rather skinny. He also had a severe cold, making him pause to blow his nose or cough.
“People at the fan meeting probably saw but it was crazy. I lost about 3kg while preparing for my prformances. I guess it was too much, I eventually caught a cold.” Still, he claims that he’s happy being able to meet his Korean fans after such a long while. “Honestly, even while in America, I received about 40,000 letters and met with my fans through uploading internet videos so I didn’t feel any distance between us. I’m just thankful that I’m able to meet them again.”
As I watched him excitedly express his thoughts, I suddenly thought of 2 words: color coordination. Even on the day of the interview, he was wearing a black wife beater, black jeans, and even black shoes. When I mentioned his color coordination, he answered with a bright smile, “I think it’s prettier to match colors.”
I brought up his fans thinking he matches the color pink the best, in which Jaebum jokingly replied, “That’s why I only wear pink underwear.” This is probably the reason he’s so loved by his fans. Even when he picks his underwear, he thinks of them.
As the interview came to a close, I asked him, “Do you ever think of returning to 2PM?”
He seemed closed in thought for a moment before he answered, “It was a good time for me. Although there were bad things that happened, being able to debut with that group was an honor and something memorable. It was a bitter experience but I’d like for all of us to do well.”
When finally asked what his future plans were, he replied, “Whatever opportunities come my way, I’m just going to go with the flow. I think all I need to do is enjoy what I’m doing and work hard.”
His answer was the 23 year old Park Jaebum of ‘today.’

Jay sent a text message to Khun congratulating his birthday
2PM’s former leader Jaebum has stated that he exchanged text messages with 2PM member Nichkhun.
On the 31st in an interview with Daily Sports, Jaebum stated, “I sent a text message on June 24th saying happy birthday to Nichkhun. He replied saying thank you. I don’t contact the members or anything but our relationship isn’t bad either. I’m glad that 2PM is doing well.”
Omitted JYPE controversy.
When asked if he keeps in contact with other JYPE friends such as the Wonder Girls, Jaebum replied, “I don’t think I need to answer questions regarding my social life.”
However, he did state a message to 2PM. “I’m happy that the members are doing well in a variety of genres. I’ll be supporting them. If I ever see any of the members, I think I’ll ask how they are doing. I’d like to be friends.”

Jay Parks Wants You To Know He Reads Your Hater Comments
Today Jay Park talked about the comments and criticisms he has received from netizens. During an interview with Sports Josun, he stated, “I make sure to read all the negative comments. I’m aware of the rumors, but I’m no longer scared of them.” He also talked about his former agency JYP Entertainment, “We didn’t do anything to each other on purpose, and there’s no time to focus on that right now. Life is too short to be disappointed. It’s all in the past, and I hope both parties are successful in what they do.”
In response to the comments by JYP Entertainment that explained that Jaebeom was not able to return to the company because of as yet unknown actions he had committed in his personal life, he stated, “I was a little bitter. However, I knew I wasn’t going to die if I couldn’t be a singer. I just wanted to hurry up and find something else to do whether it was to be dancer or find a part-time job. My life didn’t end there, and I always knew another opportunity was out there for me.”
When asked about his feelings concerning still-continuing negative rumors, Jaebeom further stated that he did not wish to bring up the past. He commented that it would be a lie if he was completely unaffected by rumors and criticisms, but he was trying to approach them in a positive light. He stated,“It’s not like they know me personally.” However, when asked about what JYP Entertainment said to him directly during the controversy, he replied that that he wanted to answer, but would not.
At the end of the interview, Jaebeom had a message for his fans saying, “I was able to overcome this because of the fans who waited for me. I promise not to disappoint you anymore.”

Jay Park Gets Robbed, While 2AM Gets Mistaken For 2PM At Mnet 20′s Choice
It seems like along with the fishy business of the award ceremony it seems a few other things happened here and there for a BAD starters netizens were not happy when ‘Hot Star Award’ went to 2nd place 2PM instead of 1st place Jay Park.
Even though 2PM was present at the awards and not Jay Park the things is 2PM was not the winner of this poll cause ccording to the actual poll held from the 10th through the 24th, the ‘Daum Hot Star Award’ is supposed to go to Jaebum in 1st place with 54.2% of the votes.
2PM fell in to 2nd place with only 32.4% of the support, leading many to wonder whether the two will appear on the same awards show.
However, 2PM won the award in place of 1st place, making many wonder how such a result came about. This award was already highly controversial amongst Jaebum and 2PM fans as a fight of pride and the results have left Jaebum fans unable to understand.
With news of Jaebum not participating in the show, suspicions have arised stating, “They’re just rigging everything.”
An Mnet associate spoke on the 25th with OSEN and stated, “There’s nothing confirmed but Jaebum will not be attending the awards show due to his schedule.”
In the not so serious case actress Han Chae Ah accidently called 2AM, 2PM which she later wrote
“The worst mistake I can make in my entire life.. ㅜㅜ” She went on to say, “I am very sorry to have made this grave a mistake during such a huge ceremony and meaningful moment” and that “I am so sorry to the members of 2AM, and to the fans of 2AM too, I am so sorry.”
In addition, she sincerely asked for forgiveness from the general public, “I made such a big mistake due to my inexperience and anxiety; if everyone could graciously forgive me for my mistake, I will work harder to become better in the future.”
But fans of 2AM who visited Han Chae Ah’s Cyworld felt bad for her and left her kind messages like “It wasn’t the worst mistake you could make in your entire life.”

Jaebum tops Mnet 20’s Choice
Park Jaebum (aka Jay Park) topped the Mnet 20’s Choice’s Hot Star Award, an online poll where fans can vote for their idols in different categories.
In a resounding success, Jaebum got 54.2 percent, or more than half of the total votes in the poll.
Surprisingly, he edged out his former boy band 2PM, where he used to be the leader. 2PM got 32.4 percent of the votes followed by boy bands MBLAQ with 4.4 percent, Beast with 3.5 percent, and 2AM member Jo Kwon with 0.6 percent.
The Mnet 20’s Choice awarding ceremony will be held Thursday at the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul and will be hosted by 2PM’s Taecyeon and Min Hyo Rin.
Winners in different categories will also be announced. Including Hot Drama Stars and Hot Variety Star.
Despite being No. 1 in the poll, Jaebum will not be attending the awarding ceremony. A representative from his agency, SidusHQ, said they didn’t get an invitation from Mnet to attend the ceremony.
In addition, Jaebum together with other SidusHQ artists will be launching their charity event today called “Let’s Go Together: A Kiss Love Campaign.” The charity program aims to help the poor and children.
Besides Jaebum, other artists under SidusHQ are Kim Suro, Kim Yoojung, Danny An and Jang Hyuk.

Jay Park to arrive in Korea today
Jay Park (Korean name Park Jae-beom) will arrive in Korea today after having left for the United States two weeks ago on vacation.
“Park is scheduled to arrive in Korea this afternoon through Incheon International Airport,” an official at SidusHQ told Sports Today over the phone on Wednesday.
The official then added that the singer and actor will prepare for his fan meeting at Korea University in Seoul set for August 28 and depart for the U.S. again for a show in Los Angeles in early September.
The fan meeting will mark the start to his Asia tour which will take place in several countries including Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia, the first time he will be holding official fan events since splitting from his former boy band 2PM early this year.
Upon his return to Korea solo in mid-June, Park took part in the filming for Korea-U.S. b-boy pic “Hype Nation” and signed with major talenthouse SidusHQ. He also released a solo debut single and gave his comeback performance through a two-day music fest whose stage was graced by international artists such as Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco.
Park, whose Korean name is Park Jae-beom, has been one of the most popular singers in the Korean music industry since debuting as a member of 2PM in 2008.

Jay Park’s Hype Nation Is Off To Bad Start
Ouch talk about bad luck on the Hype Nation set cause on the 31st, martial arts director Jun Sangjun lost conscious while attempting to recreate a free fall scene. The air bag popped out of place, causing his head to directly hit the floor.
Khan Action Stunt Team’s Jun Munshik stated, “Jun Sangjun fell from the roof of a water tank straight onto the cement floor and was moved to the hospital. He went into coma for a couple days but has regained consciousness. He injured the left side of his brain, causing his right arm and leg to become paralyzed but he’s now beginning to speak and move a bit. Unfortunately, he’s still unable to move freely and must remain down.”
Although he has regained consciousness, due to problems with his occupational health and safety insurance along with the fact that he does not have any accident insurance, the issue of compensation remains quite bleak.
Jun Munshik went on to state, “When Jun was in the emergency room, the movie production company paid the hospitaㅣ fees. Unfortunately, he’s not registered as an employee so he cannot receive any accident insurance. Treating him is the top priority right now so we’ll see about the compensation later.”
All responsibilities of filming within Korea is by ‘Hype Nation Korea’ which receives funds from Hype Nation LA and CJ Investment Firm. However, ‘Hype Nation Korea’ only has a few contracted employees registered since it’s a company only by paper. The company will disappear as soon as filming is done in Korea. Because of such reasons, if the compensation matter is not solved as soon as possible, Jun will most likely never receive compensation.
Attorney Sung Daejin spoke on the 24th, “Currently, associates of Hype Nation state that they will be compensating him only by mouth. They specified in Jun’s contract that he will be insured for accidents and that he will be compensated in the case of death or trauma. However, we have found out that he is not even insured for accidents.”
But Wait It Gets Better!!!!!
An associate of Hype Nation spoke with Star News on the 24th and stated, “It is true that Jun Sangjun is injured but he is not paralyzed. He has already regained consciousness.”
The associate went on to state, “He did not get injured while filming on set but while in an individual rehearsal. We will be meeting with his family in a bit to discuss the medical expenses along with compensation.”
When asked whether it is true that ‘Hype Nation Korea,’ the company responsible for everything regarding Hype Nation in Korea, will be disappearing after filming is completed, the associate revealed, “Filming in Korea is completed in August but we still have America and Germany left to film. The company will remain until then. Those are just rumors.”

He looked somewhat uncomfortable. More truthfully, he looked slightly lonely. No, he might’ve just stayed quiet for the first little while in the studio full of strangers. It was probably that. The fact that in his eyes which had unusually teary whites, an anxiety that was like waking up just as dusk set was read was probably because the one who saw it was over-empathizing. For a long while, the name ‘Jaebum’ was a syndrome and disease. People talked about him too much, or clamped their mouths closed and didn’t talk about him at all. Even after he left Korea, people used the name ‘Park Jaebum’ as a publicized issue, and his every move was turned into an article. And one day, like a dream, he came back. Fussy eyes were all concentrated on him, but from then till now he’s only being doing his own thing. Really, quietly, as an interviewee, Jaebum had few words. And talking with him, who grew up in America, I could realize how many Chinese words we used on basis like a habit. It was because every time an expression he didn’t know very well popped out, he asked about the meaning of the word. Just like a person who tries to translate thoughts inside their head into the most exact words possible. Him repeatedly using ‘Just because’ in his answers many times seemed like a request to not overexaggerate meanings in the times that past and this moment right now. This, too, was probably because the one listening was over-empathizing with him.
After the interview finished, Jaebum looked like free child who had finished the day’s homework. The view in which the tattoist drew in the tattoo for the filming on his bare skin was regarded by all women staffs, but he joked, “It’s all right. If all guys glared at me like this, it would’ve been a little scary…” As he looked at a wristwatch being drawn on his wrist patiently, he suddenly asked, “Do you want to try listening to my song? It hasn’t been officially released yet.” The song which he said he’d wrote lyrics himself had the title ‘Bestie’. When the song started, Jaebum started lightly grooving to the rhythm and started moving his body. For sure, moving, dancing and running and rolling like he was defying gravity, throwing out a passionate mind that couldn’t be tamed and a craze-like excitement freely. Because that’s Jaebum-like.
Later, he who was met again on the backstage of Naksan Summer Week & T, started a conversation without hesitation with a comfortable face, saying “How was I? Could you hear the rap well?” but that was 3 days later, in the late night of August 7th. When I pushed the recorder towards the direction he was sitting in, the Jaebum of August 4th fixed his position and pulled his chair up.
It’s been 9 months. How were you during it (the months)? In America? Yes, in America. Hmm… At first, I just went to America. I said hello to the relatives I couldn’t meet for a long time because I was in Korea, and had dinner with them…. I wanted to work again as quickly as possible so I practiced with a breakdancing crew called AOM.
It’s the team in which you appeared with in movie , right? Ah, yes. I practiced together with them, practiced acrobatics every Thursday, and lived like that.
You must be in the midst of filming the movie right now. Yes. In fact, I have a filming tomorrow.
Since the director’s American, an article that said that you ‘Advanced into Hollywood’ came up. (A face like he was about to laugh or not) Ah, I don’t know. For me, it’s good if it gains success. It’s good if it succeeds.
That face expression that just past by, it seems like that you’re embarrassed? You’re right. The saying ‘Advanced into Hollywood’ is a burden to me. The people saying ‘Jaebummie is going to act’ is embarrassing enough, but ‘Advancing into Hollywood’ on top of that….
It was a surprise, though. A sudden movie (appearance). At first, I wasn’t going to do it. But when they said I could do it with my crew, my mind started changing.
You mean AOM? Yes. They’re my old friends. Since it was the crew I was in since 2002. At first, being a singer wasn’t my dream. I wanted to be a bboy. So I always thought about how great it’d be if I could do what I wanted with my friends. But when I debuted, I came to Korea alone. So this time, I really wanted to do it with them.
Your Twitter was also almost all about dancing, practice, and music. Like a person who’s head is always filled with that thought. Just because it’s fun. (Laughs) Dancing, writing raps, and singing, I’m doing it all because it’s fun. If it’s something that I had to do, I probably couldn’t have done all this. I don’t practice every day, but I play games with my friends.
What kind of game? After I came to Korea, I played Starcraft in the PC room. Since I couldn’t go anywhere with friends, we went to the PC room after work was finished. (Laughs)
I don’t know where that is, but that PC room’s ‘worker’ has won a lotto. Didn’t s/he ask for a signature? Ah, yeah. (Laughs) There was a person who wanted to take a photo with me, too.
Did you know that every time a video of Jaebum-sshi on YouTube or when a tweet came up on Twitter it was made into an article in the country? I didn’t know about all of them.
How did you feel? I think it could’ve been a little too much. Actually, it was something to be thankful about. It means that they’re paying attention to me. I was also amazed that they made something that I thought insignificant into an article. If I was a person that was paid that much attention to. (Laughs) Truthfully, I tried to pay not much attention to the articles about me.
You must be broad-minded. It’s not that. (Laughs) It’s just that I do the things I should with effort, and fans are curious about how I live so I tell them what I’m doing, that’s all.
Really, Jaebum-sshi is an idol that has a unique fandom. Ah, I’m like that?

I heard in passing, and that fandom’s characteristic was ‘Maternal Instinct’. What’s maternal instinct?
A mother’s mind in which she thinks for her child. Ah, that. They’re amazing, the fans. It’s because of the thankfulness for the people who cheer for me that I came back and am going to release an album, and stuff. If it weren’t for the fans, I wouldn’t have came back.
Do you personally contact the fans? No, I try not to do that as much as I can. It isn’t fair if I talk with some fans and I don’t with the others. Actually, it’s my parents who talk with my fans a lot. Especially my mom. My mom does that because she’s thankful, too. Because my fans worry for me, she tries to make them relax.
You say ‘I’m thankful (for the fans)’ a lot.
“Of course, it’s a good thing that I have popularity. However, that can change or disappear. However, family lasts forever. The reason I engraved the years in which they were born on my chest in a tattoo is because I’m certain we’ll love each other forever.”
After seeing the YouTube video I uploaded from the States, the fans said that they wanted to see me go up on stage again. That’s why I’m doing the fanmeet tour this time. Because I want to show them a good stage, at least like this.
Your international fan meeting schedule was pretty packed up? How many countries are you going in total? Very many. Eight? Nine? For now, they’re all Asian coutnries, but I might be doing it in L.A. too. It’s not decided for sure yet.
If you were to compare the feeling from when you first came to Korea to be a singer to the feeling nowadays when you came back again, how are they? They’re very different. At first, I came here thinking of my parents, and now, I’m thinking of my fans. I came back to show my thankfulness towards them.
Did you contact with 2PM members once you came back? Mm, no.
You might run into 2PM while doing your activities in a broadcasting station’s powder room or a waiting room in a concert? If we meet, I think I’ll say hi to them gladly. If we could be close, I’ll be really happy. It’s good that 2PM succeeded, too.
What was the thing you most paid attention to, looking at your in-country comeback up close? So, you mean when I come back this time?
Yes. Your new song’s coming out, you’re filming a movie, you have to stand at the Naksan Summer Week & T stage...Yes, you’re right. I have to pay attention to many things. Especially, Summer Week & T is the first big stage I’m standing on after 9 months as a singer, and I paid a lot of attention to it because I had to prepare a performance in short notice… (Laughs)
First performance after 9 months… you must be nervous. I kept coughing for a month. I keep coughing whenever I sing. It’s not a cold… I’m not sure what it is.
Oh dear, did you visit the hospital? Yes. Even if I go to the hospital and take medicine, it won’t stop. So these days, that’s the main worry I have. That I’ll cough in the midst of singing in Naksan.
The fans with a ‘motherly mind’ would be concerned if they knew? The fans are actually worrying for me a lot already. They send me honey everyday, Yuja tea, telling me to get better soon…. (Laughs)
Instead of ‘Singer Jaebum’, what does ’20s Man Jaebum’ spend his time doing? What do you like doing? Truthfully, I don’t do much. I play games on PS3 with my friends. I never play games by myself. That isn’t much fun.
More like, you might just like being with your friends instead of gaming. It’s probably that. Whatever I do, I have to do it with my friends in order for it to be fun. However, a while ago, my friends went back to the States so I was alone most of the time recently. So I look at Twitter to see what my friends are doing…. If I’m alone, I almost always exercise. (Laughs)
You must be bored. And lonely. Yes. So I’m just practicing breakdancing.
Omo, practicing again? Ah, no. It’s a bit different from practicing….
Is there just no boundry line between work and play? (Glad-looking) Yes, right. That! Because it’s fun, and I’m trying to always dance my best every time. Here, the tattoo… (showing the tattoo on his left chest) Always Come Proper, it means ‘Always Do Your Best’ (T/N: Or something like that.)
What are the numbers below that? 55 is the year 1955 in which my father was born, the 60 beside it was my mother, the next is me (87) and my brother (89).
It’s a tattoo only a person who really loves his family could do. Yes. It’s because I’m certain that we’ll love each other forever. Ah, and this is our crew’s name. (Shows the tattoo that says ‘AOM’ behind the right ear.)
What kind of woman do you like? I don’t really have a specific style. The women who I think ‘Oh, they’re pretty’ all had different styles.
Question again. Then what point of a woman do you feel appeals to you? Mm, a woman whom her smile is cute but beautiful as well?
That’s hard. How do you have to smile like to attain that? I don’t really know. (Laughs) And I like a woman who has a natural feel. A woman whom her face is prettier without makeup. At that, it’d be good if she danced good. (Laughs)
Oh my, does a woman like that really exist? Yes, of course.
It’s not that you met a woman like that recently? Of course, I had a person who I thought was appealing. (Thinks for a moment) Since I can’t think of one off the top of my head, I don’t seem to have one. (Laughs)
Are you the type who thinks that you yourself have charisma? No, I don’t think I have much.
Why not? First, these ‘slippers’… (lifts up leg and shows a slipper he was wearing) and these gray socks… I’m like this, how am I charismatic. (Laughs) I don’t think I have charisma. I don’t think that someone will yell ‘Wow, he’s charismatic’ when I’m eating in a restaurant. (Laughs)
You’re smiling right now, but the points of your eyes are sharp? This? It’s eyeliner. (Laughs)
‘Count On Me’ is a song that has a very different style than from back in the 2PM days. Yeah, it is. These days, I write my own lyrics and it’s formulized into the music and dance I want. Before, I did songs that another person made.
There must be a great difference between doing a song another person made and doing a song you yourself made?Ooh, it’s different. ‘Bestie’ was lyricized by me, so I’m anticipating revealing it more. I’m really excited and curious about what other people will think after listening to the song.
If you were to choose one thing that you couldn’t give up in life? My family.
You answered in 0.1 seconds. Really? Truthfully, I’m not interested in cars, or other things. I’m fine with cars as long as they just roll along fine…. (Laughs)
Popularity, too? Popularity… but popularity can’t last all your life.
But it’d be different thinking about it like that versus actually receiving it. Of course, it’s a really thankful thing to have popularity. However, things like that can change or disappear. However, family lasts forever.
Are you happy these days? Yes, I’m happy. I’m happy that I came back. I’m happy that I’m being welcomed for my comeback, happy that people are giving me interest. I’m happy that I’m rapping and singing and dancing on stage. I’m happy these days.
Okay, now the last question. If someone asks ‘Who is Park Jaebum?’, how do you want to answer? I don’t really know. What kind of person would I be? Hmm… this is a very hard question. I’m not a person who thinks hard thoughts like that. (Laughs)

Jay Park Wants You To Know He’s Not A Hater
After returning to the U.S Jay Park uploaded a youtube video of him doing a cover to Lupe Fiasco’s I’m Beamin which instantly got a bunch of fans crying for more.
However, some devious netizens closely analyzed his original lyrics in the cover, and instantly accused the star of trying to send some hate towards JYP and 2PM.
But of course his company Sidus HQ quickly came to the rescue to put the rumors to rest by holding an interview with Money Today Star News. An official stated, “Jay has already stated countless amount of times in interviews that he wants to maintain a good relationship with 2PM and JYP. The rap lyrics are not attacking 2PM and JYP in any way.”
The official continued, “There is no reason for Jay to suddenly come out and attack the two. Both sides are doing great. The lyrics have to do with the movie, and again have nothing to do with dissing 2PM and JYP.”
The lyrics that were being questioned are: ‘You can’t pull me down. You tried to send me away but I came back like a hero. They were envious of me and wanted me to bleed but I won’t ever lose to something as pathetic as jealousy.’

He’s changed ?
I believed Park Jaebum changed. “Because of the things that occurred, so many articles came up in the newspaper”, so I had the thought that he was just curled up in a ball. But in all honesty wouldn’t he have been like that? After the controversy of the belittlement towards Korea, he left to America as if running away, and I thought that since he even got officially withdrawn out of his group 2PM, he wouldn’t be able to smile like before. “So many things happened in such a short space of time.” And this year in June, Park Jaebum returned to Korea. “I didn’t make the decision to myself that I had to promote activities in Korea. The fans missed me a lot, and I missed my fans a lot too, that’s why I kept uploading dance and singing videos up on Youtube. Also a good chance for me to film a movie with my friends came along, that’s why I came to Korea. I didn’t think I’d have to do as many interviews as this.” In the two months Park Jaebum has been here, he was selected to model for a clothing brand company, feature in other artists’ tracks, released his own new tracks and , appointed the ambassador for disability sports, and even shot a movie. He also contracted with a new entertainment company. “Looking at it like that, I might look stupid, but I’m just going with the flow.”
After returning back to his family in America in September, the image of him exposed to the criticism was pitiful. After commenting that he seems to be smiling less than before, and looks a bit withered, he replied “I haven’t changed that much.” “Before, I went on a lot of variety shows, but now that I don’t go on TV shows that much, it’s probably because of that. I keep coughing but other than that my condition is good, it’s not great but it’s not bad either.” Park Jaebum finished filming for his movie as well as the filming for the music video for the track for the O.S.T, and soon after this interview he left for America. “I can feel that my physical body has changed a bit after staying up all night for shooting the movie, but we finished the movie well.” He felt satisfied to a certain extent with his first movie shooting. He said he couldn’t finish the shooting safely, but was still satisfied with it. Regretfully, the will release in the summer next year. We will need to wait 1 year to watch his filming.
The boy who still dances
is a 3D dance movie. Park Jaebum’s role in the movie is Darkness. Darkness is the leader of a b-boy team Chaos crew, and at a young age he lost his parents and grew up in the hands of a gang leader (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa). “When I was shooting the movie it felt like I could fill up the whole two hours. But in reality I don’t think there’s a lot of material, we spent 2 weeks on filming.” He might say the cast wasn’t that big but the decision to shoot the movie wouldn’t have been a small worry. “At first I wasn’t going to, but I said I would only film if I can film it with my b-boy crew in America AOM, and also the fact that it was a dance movie, so when I watched movies like I had thoughts that it would be a fun movie to film.”
Darkness is the antagonist of the movie. It wouldn’t have been easy for him to act, let alone act as an antagonistic character. “I thought, “for this bit I could act it out like this”, but when I actually act it out and monitor myself, the acting didn’t come out as I wanted. And also I had to think “I’m Darkness, I’m really bad and I really hate AOM (AOM played the b-boy team he had to face against)”, but it was really hard for me to think like that.” So he said he thinks he would do good if he acted in a comedy. “Ever since I was little, I watched lots of funny sitcoms, I really think I can be funny.” Looking at his composed body and changeable face, one could really start to think he could suit a comedy. Park Jaebum made an expressionless face, and then the next moment he laughed like a baby, but the sudden change in face expression was amusing. Whenever he changed his expression, even the mood of our surroundings changed too. That expression, that mask – the mask that cannot be expressed with words such as ‘good looking’ or ‘cute’, could be a great advantage as an actor.
The man who gives love
When you look at Park Jaebum in one way, he’s a radiating star, but when you look at him from another way, he looks like any other average guy. “I still don’t think of myself as a celebrity, as someone at the top.” The fact of him working at a tyre shop for a part time job after stopping his 2PM promotions and returning back to his American life was not weird for him at all. He also said “(When I was in America) I thought, what should I do now, I thought a lot about my future. But I didn’t worry, to be honest it’s not like you’ll die if you can’t be a singer. I didn’t think of it as my dreams falling into pieces. My dream wasn’t to be a singer to start with. Rapping and dancing was something I did because it was fun.” He said his childhood dream was to do research on animals. His mother found out about his rapping and dancing and suggested him to go for an audition. He came to Korea when he was in high school. When he came to Korea, he first felt a sense of selfishness for ‘success’. “I wanted to succeed and help out my parents and friends. That’s how I came to Korea. I like it now that that my parents can be proud of me and I can hang out with my friends.” During the interview he talked a lot about his parents, friends and fans. He was sorry for hurting the people he loves, and said he will pay back that love. “I have deep feelings, when I like something, it’s hard for me to detach away from it. So when I get close to someone, my relationship with them goes long, I don’t know why I’m like that. I just want to be good for the people around me, and I want to help them.” Park Jaebum is the type where he is shy with strangers but once that brick wall falls down, he will unsparingly spread out his love. He receives love, but does not spare the love he returns to the people familiar to him. As a singer, actor, and his other images, he will return back all of that love. Without any particular plans, he intends to just go with the flow.

Brave Brothers, “If given the chance again, I want to work Jaebum to produce music”
The song ‘I Want To Cry’ by the Brave Brothers and Park JaeBum has finally been revealed.
The song, off Brave Brother’s first album ‘The Classic’, was revealed on 10th August, and it features JaeBum as the lyricist as well as the rap and vocal.
The song, after its reveal, went up to the #1 spot on various online realtime music charts, garnering great interests from music fans. Brave Brothers commented, “JaeBum has shown his capabilities in terms of rap and vocals through working together for this album, if given the chance again, I will want to produce music with JaeBum again.”
The album ‘The Classic’, set for release in early September, also features other singers like Son DamBi, Davichi, DJ DOC, 4Minute HyunA, V.O.S etc.
